The Walker Evans Effect

I’m going to be DJing at Bristol in two weeks. Will be my first “real” time DJing there since the last time was last minute and I didn’t have much time to invite anyone out for it. Hopefully this month will be a little better. We shall see. You can click on the little flyer picture to the right for details. An ad for it will be running in the Columbus Alive next week, so I’ll have to pick up a copy of that.

Anne & I walked over to Schiller Park this evening to watch a free performance of “The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)” as performed in part of the “Shakespeare in the Park” summer series, and I have to say it was a lot of fun. The actors did a nice job and some bits were pretty funny. A few of the jokes were dated, while others were updated, but beside that small inconsistency it was pretty well performed. Who can really complain when it’s free?

Yesterday I went with a co-worker over to the new event in downtown Columbus called Taco+Beer. It’s a social networking type of thing where free tacos and free beer is provided! Always see some familiar faces there and it’s cool to meet some new people and talk about things. Did I mention they have free beer and free tacos??? The beer is a microbrew from our local Elevator Brewing Company, and the Tacos are courtesy of Due Amici. If you haven’t checked it out yet and are in Cølumbus you need to GO!

I wanted to post up an image of this flyer I made for a DJ event earlier this year. It was a pretty good time and a decent turnout. Sadly, the club has closed since then because like most clubs… the management didn’t know what they were doing. Oh well…
